Lars Willum immigrated from Denmark to Cape Breton in 1995. Over the past several years he has established an impressive local resume: Chef of the Cranberry Cove Inn, Louisbourg for five seasons, a member of the Cape Breton Island Chefs Association, invited by Canadian government to prepare receptions in Canada and abroad, supper club at Arkandor, weddings and special events. Lars also produced and appeared in the popular Seaside Communications Cable program Be My Guest.

He has also catered many functions in his role as a community volunteer: including arts Cape Breton and the Whitney Pier Youth Club breakfast nutrition program. Lars commitment through his company Cape Breton Gourmet is to create quality menus reflecting his international culinary skills while showcasing the wide-range of excellent Cape Breton produced food.

Recipe Creation

An extension of our menu engineering consultation, Cape Breton Gourmet can assist you in implementing new recipes for your establishment, including recipe design and demonstration of recipe preparation for your kitchen staff.

Food Clinics

Food preparation clinics for small groups - private or corporate - where participants receive hands-on experience with food and menu preparation.

Weddings And Special Occasions

Three-course menu or buffet - prepared in careful consultation. Maximum 75 people. A creative alternative to traditional turkey dinners. We can even design and prepare the wedding cake.

Supper Club

The evening or afternoon begins with a one hour discussion and demonstration on how the chef prepared the menu, followed by a leisurely brunch or dinner. Maximum thirty people.

Corporate Lunch or Dinner

Treat your employees or visiting business partners to a showcase of the best Cape Breton grown food products prepared in a menu that will make a lasting impression.

Home Dinners

Menu prepared and served in your own home.
